BNP and like-minded opposition parties will hold human chains across Bangladesh on Saturday to press home their 10-point demand.
The opposition parties are going to hold the program in the third phase after staging consecutive road-march programmes from the cities to unions across the country for over a month.
Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP's media cell, confirmed it on Friday saying the human chain program will be held in all divisional cities and districts across the country from 11am to 12pm on Saturday.
The parties will hold this human chain program to protest against the increase in the price of daily necessities including electricity, rice, oil, agricultural and educational materials and press home their 10-point demand, including holding the next general election under a non-party caretaker government and unconditional release of Begum Khaleda Zia, said Shayrul Kabir Khan.
“A human chain program will be held in Naya Paltan in front of BNP's central office at 11am under the initiative of Dhaka Metropolitan South unit. The party's General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee member Mirza Abbas will be present,” he said.
“Another human chain program will be held in front of Suvastu Nazar Valley in Uttar Badda area at 11am under the initiative of Dhaka Metropolitan North unit where BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain will attend,” he added.
Shayrul Kabir Khan further said Ganatantra Mancha will form human chain opposite Bijoynagar water tank, 12 party alliance near the Bijoynagar water tank, Jatiyatabadi Samamona Jote in front of Al-Razi Complex in Purana Paltan, Gonoforum in Motijheel area, Ganatantrik Bam Oikya in front of National Press Club and Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) will form human chain in Karwan Bazar area.
BNP started anti-government movement from August last year and a simultaneous program started in late December.
