Two workers have burned to death at a shipbreaking yard in Shitolpur in Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong district.
The deceased were identified as Md Jalil, 26, son of Md Ainal, hailing from Barisal; and Bipul Chandra, 24, son of late Shoshi Chandra, hailing from Kurigram district.
Sitakunda police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Pradyut Gosh Chowdhury said: "Two workers sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out from a gas cylinder Monday night while they were working in the engine room of an scrap vessel at Sagorika Ship Breaking Yard."
They were rushed to a private hospital where they succumbed to their injuries, he added.
