Quoting eyewitnesses, Araihazar police station OC said: “Abdul Baten had a land dispute with his neighbour Michhir Ali. To settle the dispute, an arbitration was held in presence of Bramandi Union 4 UP member Khokon Mia. In the heat of the debate, Shahjahan, Ayubur, Mahibur, Yunus and others severely beat up Abdul.”The injured Abdul was taken to the upazila health complex where he was announced dead by doctors on call.
The deceased was the son of Dewan Ali from Shulpandi village in the upazila.
Police recovered Abdul's body and sent it to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.
The OC added the police is looking to arrest the people involved with the murder.
