The deceased Mizanur Rahman, 45, used to work for a garment factory at Muradpur area in the city and resided at Tigerpass railway colony with his family.
He left his home after he received a call on his cellphone on Monday night.
Kamruzzaman, sub-inspector of Double Mooring police station said: “The body has injury marks on the back inflicted by a sharp weapon. However, the mobile phone of the deceased could not be found.”
The body was sent to Chitta-gong Medical College morgue for autopsy.
