Three more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Friday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 1,147.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified all three of the latest casualties as suspected.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 1,043, while the number of confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 104, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
The three new suspected fatalities were reported across three divisions; Sylhet, Chittagong, and Barisal with one death each.
A total of 1,268 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Friday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 202,893.
During the same period, 81 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 22,197.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 180,079 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 172,705 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
