Four more children have died from measles-like symptoms in the 24 hours leading up to 8:00am on Thursday, raising the overall death toll from the ongoing outbreak to 1,144.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has classified all four of the latest casualties as suspected.
With the latest figures, the total number of suspected measles deaths has reached 1,040, while the number of confirmed deaths remained unchanged at 104, as no new confirmed measles deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
Among the four new suspected fatalities, the highest concentration was recorded in the Sylhet division with two deaths. At the district level, one casualty each was recorded in Sylhet, Sunamganj, Dhaka, and Khulna.
A total of 1,332 suspected measles cases were recorded in the 24 hours till Thursday morning, taking the overall suspected case tally to 201,625.
During the same period, 96 new confirmed measles cases were reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections to 22,116.
Since March 15, 2026, a total of 178,927 suspected measles patients have been hospitalized across the country, of whom 171,680 have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, according to the DGHS.
