Ariful Haque Chowdhury, mayor and Noor Azizur Rahman, chief executive engineer of Sylhet City Corporation has tested positive for Covid-19.
The duo tested positive with 27 more people in the district on Thursday evening, confirmed official sources of the PCR Lab in Sylhet Osmani Medical College.
Prescribed the doctors, the mayor is in home isolation and in good health, said the mayor office sources.
At least 11,669 people tested positive for Covid-19 in the district till Thursday morning and 202 people died among them.
Earlier, Shama Haque Chowdhury, the wife of SCC mayor Ariful has been tested positive for the virus in June this year.
