A total of 211 judges and staff of lower courts across Bangladesh have been infected with coronavirus (Covid-19) so far.
Forty-four lower court judges and 167 staff were infected with Covid-19 till Monday, an official release on Tuesday said, referring to the monitoring desk of the Law and Justice Division.
Of the total number of infected judges, 20 have recovered, while Magura District and Sessions Judge Md Kamrul Hasan is under treatment in hospital, reports BSS.
Lalmonirhat Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal judge Ferdous Ahmed has died of coronavirus.
Of the total number of infected lower court judges, two have died so far.
Law Minister Anisul Huq is monitoring the report of the desk daily and giving necessary instructions as Law and Justice Division Secretary Md Golam Sarwar has been informing him about the daily updates.
