Bangladesh has yet again recorded the highest Covid-19 cases in a single day, with 1,617 fresh cases.
Another 16 people have died of the disease in the last 24 hours.
With the latest figures, the country's Covid-19 death toll has risen to 386 and the total confirmed Covid-19 cases as of Wednesday has climbed to 26,738.
Additional Director General (Administration) Prof Nasima Sultana of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) revealed the latest figures on Wednesday afternoon at a daily online bulletin on the Covid-19 situation.
Meanwhile, 214 more patients recovered, taking the total number of recovery to 5,207.
Bangladesh climbed yet another spot, ranking 28, in the highest Covid-19 cases in the world, overtaking the UAE, according to Worldometer.
Earlier on Monday, the country recorded the highest Covid-19 death toll and positive cases in a single day, with 21 deaths and 1,602 cases.
Twelve of them died in hospitals and four of them died at home.
Nasima said around 11,138 samples were collected in the last 24-hours and 10,207 samples were tested in 43 laboratories.
Till date, a total of 230,852 samples were tested, she said.
Covid-19 testing was conducted in 42 laboratories in Bangladesh till Tuesday. In addition, United Hospital started testing samples since Wednesday.
According to the DGHS, against the total number of confirmed cases, the recovery rate is 19.47% and mortality rate is 1.44% in Bangladesh.
The DGHS official said a child, aged between zero to 10, has died from Covid-19 in the last 24-hours.
One of the deceased was aged between 21 to 30, one aged between 31 to 40, one aged between 41 to 50, five were aged between 51 to 60, four were aged between 61 to 70, two were aged between 71 to 80, and one was aged between 81 to 90.
Of the deceased, three were female and 13 were males. Seven of them were from Dhaka division, five from Chittagong division, three from Rangpur division, and one from Sylhet division.
Nasima further said that 300 people had been taken to isolation in the last 24 hours, taking the number of isolated Covid-19 patients to 3,816 across the country.
Meanwhile, 4,011 people have been isolated in the last 24-hours.
In the last 24 hours, 10,050 personal protective equipment (PPE) were collected and 25,750 PPEs had been distributed while a total of 3,51,707 PPEs remained in stock, she said.
In the last 24-hours, 2, 33,574 calls were received at the health hotline numbers.

The fast spreading coronavirus claimed 325,325 lives and infected 5,008,228 people across the world till Wednesday afternoon, according to Worldometer.
As many as 1,974,921 people have recovered from Covid-19, which has spread to 213 countries and territories across the globe.
