DMCH police outpost in-charge tests Covid-19 positive

Md Bachchu Mia, 54, in-charge of police outpost at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), has tested positive for Covid-19. 

Speaking to Dhaka Tribune on Monday night, Bachchu said he had been feeling feverish lately, and gave samples for testing at the DMCH. 

On Monday evening, his test results came, confirming that he had the viral infection. 

He further said he had informed the higher authorities about his situation, and preparations were underway to take him to Central Police Hospital in Rajarbagh, Dhaka, when this report was filed at 11:20pm.  

A native of Nagarpur in Tangail, Bachchu has been serving as the in-charge of the police outpost at the DMCH for a long time. 

The outpost, where six police and three Ansar members are stationed, has been locked down, Bachchu told Dhaka Tribune.
