As many as 741 members of Bangladesh Police were diagnosed with Covid-19 around the country until Saturday morning, according to sources in the Police Headquarters.
Of the total, 356 are from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police alone.
Five of the infected officials died over the past week.
Of the 741 infected police officials, 232 were identified in between Friday and Saturday noon.
Also, 57 policemen have so far recovered, while 1,250 policemen are still in quarantine and 174 in isolation, said the sources.
Until Saturday afternoon, health authorities in Bangladesh recorded 8,790 Covid-19 cases and 175 deaths.
