Police have arrested 19 individuals in a special drive on charges of various crimes in different parts of the capital's Mohammadpur.
The arrestees were identified as Sajib, 26; Al Amin, 24; Sajib, 28; Hira, 19; Shanto, 22; Raihan, 21; Mehedi Hasan, 22; Russell, 21; Rana, 24; Hossain, 19; Rabbi, 19; Siam, 20; Sujan, 28; Farhan, 20; Fazle Rabbi, 20; Emon, 19; Al Amin, 19; Sabbir, 19; and Shabnur, 27, according to a media release from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).
The statement said that Mohammadpur Police Station conducted the special raid and arrested them based on specific allegations, including drug peddling, kidnapping, robbery, extortion, and other criminal cases. Some of them were also fugitive accused.
Homemade weapons and narcotics were recovered from their possession.
The arrestees have been produced before the court.
