Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Bomb Disposal Unit rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a cocktail-like object inside a bag in front of Ananda Cinema Hall in Dhaka's Farmgate area.
Police said that three cocktails were recovered from the bag.
The cocktails were found around 12:45pm on Saturday near the Laguna stand on the west side of Ananda Cinema Hall.
Later, they were taken to the old trade fair grounds in Agargaon and deactivated.
Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Saiful Islam said: "We arrived at the scene after receiving information through 999. With the help of the bomb disposal unit, three cocktails wrapped in black tape were recovered from a black bag at around 1:15pm."
The police official further said: "Following orders from senior officers, the recovered cocktails were taken to the old trade fair grounds in Agargaon and deactivated."
The deactivation of the cocktails was confirmed by DMP Tejgaon Division Deputy Police Commissioner (DC) Ibne Miz.
