A building has been put under lockdown at Dhaka’s Rampura after one of its residents was found infected with coronavirus.
The infected, identified as a 69-year-old male, had been staying at the building in West Hazipara area of Rampura.
After he tested positive for Covid-19, police locked down the building at 11pm on Monday.
Hatirjheel police station Officer-in-Charge Golam Azam confirmed the matter and said, the patient has been in a stable condition as of now.
Talking to Dhaka Tribune over the phone, the patient said he had been sick since Thursday and the IEDCR took his samples on Saturday.
On Monday night, IEDCR confirmed he was Covid-19 positive.
“All of my family members are now in quarantine," he said.
