Noting South-South cooperation was built on the foundation of solidarity, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has said global solidarity is needed to find new ways to rebuild the world.
“And this has to be taken to the next step for national wellbeing, national collective self-reliance and international development goals including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” he said.
Momen made the remarks while delivering his keynote speech at a virtual roundtable titled “Our Common Agenda – A Ministerial Dialogue” organized by the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation on Monday.
Global South-South Development Expo 2022 is taking place on September 12-15 in Bangkok, Thailand, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
Momen emphasized establishing a forum of development, finance and foreign ministers, and exploring the potentials of accelerated development.
He highlighted the motto of the foreign policy of Bangladesh which was outlined by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and said Bangladesh stands ready for cooperation, collaboration and co-creation.
Momen also highlighted the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for a long development path with a short span of time, innovation and entrepreneurship.
