The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed traffic restrictions and issued alternative route advisories in view of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Board of Directors election and the upcoming ODI series against Australia.

In a public notice signed on Saturday by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md Sazzat Ali, the police said the BCB board election and a practice match between the Bangladesh national cricket team and the Australia national cricket team will be held on Sunday.

The ODI series will begin on Tuesday, with the second match scheduled for Thursday, followed by the third ODI on June 14.

As part of the traffic management measures, Prashika road adjacent to the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur will remain closed to vehicular movement daily from 8:00am to 6:00pm during the event period.

The DMP has urged commuters and vehicle operators to avoid the affected stretch and use an alternative route to reach Mirpur-1. The suggested diversion route is Prashika crossing–Sheyalbari crossing–Rainkhola–Eidgah field–Mirpur-1.

Authorities have sought the cooperation of the public to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize inconvenience during the sporting events.
