Bangladesh Red Crescent Society commemorated the 43rd death anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Wednesday by hosting a discussion meeting followed by special prayers.
The event was held at the training room of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) at 2pm on Wednesday, according to a press statement
Red Crescent Chairman Hafiz Ahmed Mazumdar presided over the meeting, where Jagannath University Vice-Chancellor Prof Mizanur Rahman was present as the chief guest.
Red Crescent managing board members Lutfur Rahman Chowdhury Helal, Rabindra Mohon Saha, and Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital Director Brig Gen (retd) Shahadat Hossain were present as special guests.
Before the event, the flags of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Red Crescent Society were raised at the society’s Bangladesh headquarters in the presence of its top officials.
Afterwards, they paid tribute to Bangabandhu by placing floral wreaths at his Dhanmondi Road 32 home.
