  • He will exclusively contest Bogra-4 seat
Update : 01 Dec 2023, 12:47 AM

Ashraful Hossen Alom, popularly known as Hero Alom, finally revealed that he is participating in the election from the Gono Odhikar Party of the Bangladesh Congress alliance.

On Thursday afternoon, his personal assistant Sujan Rahman Shubo submitted nomination papers to the Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Saiful Islam.

Hero Alom confirmed this information via WhatsApp, mentioning that their symbol for the election is green coconut.

He clarified that initially, he mistakenly withdrew the nomination from the Supreme Party but later corrected it by submitting his nomination to the Gono Odhikar Party. For the current election, he will exclusively contest the Bogra-4 seat.

His personal assistant Sujan Rahman Shubo said that the nomination papers were submitted to Bogra Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Saiful Alam around 4pm on the last day of the nomination submission period (Thursday).

Hero Alom previously contested the Bogra-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) constituency as an independent candidate in the 11th national election but was defeated.

Subsequently, BNP MPs resigned from Bogra-4 and Bogra-6 (Sadar) constituencies, leading to vacant seats. Hero Alom participated in the by-elections for these constituencies but faced defeat again, alleging rigging.
