About 62% of the candidates from Jatiya Oikya Front and BNP-led 20-Party Alliance contesting in the 11th parliamentary election are facing cases.
Out of their 287 candidates, 177 are accused in a number of cases, says an analysis of Shushashoner Jonno Nagorik (Shujan).
Of the 177 accused,41 of them are named in casesfiled over murder charges.
Civil society platform Shujan revealed the data at a press conference on Monday at the National Press Club in Dhaka.
On the other hand, 20 candidates, out ofa total of 299, from the Awami League-led Grand Alliance are facing cases, shows the analysis compiled from affidavits of the coalition’s 1,842 candidates.

However, only three of them are accused in murder cases.
From other platforms, 11.56% candidates of Left Democratic Alliance, 5.39% of Islami Andolan Bangladesh, and 8.65% candidates of other political parties have cases against them, according to the Shujan analysis.
Moreover, 19.49% of the independent candidates across the country are also facing cases on different charges.
