The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations under the Chittagong Education Board resumed on Monday after being suspended for nearly three weeks due to floods and adverse weather conditions.
With the resumption, students under the board returned to examination halls for the first time since the suspension. Examinations also continued across the country's other nine general education boards, the Madrasa Education Board and the Technical Education Board as per the previously announced schedule.
According to the routine, examinations for Civics and Good Governance (First Paper), Biology (Theory, First Paper), and Business Organisation and Management (First Paper) began at 10am under the nine general education boards. The Food and Nutrition (First Paper) examination is scheduled for the afternoon.
Under the Madrasa Education Board, Alim examinees are sitting for Islamic History, Physics (Theory, Second Paper), and Tajweed (Second Paper for the Mujabbid Mahir stream). The Technical Education Board is holding the Human Resource Management-I examination for HSC (BMT) students.
On July 16, authorities suspended all remaining HSC and equivalent examinations under the Chittagong Education Board until further notice, citing the post-flood situation, the physical and mental condition of examinees, and disruption to road communications in affected areas.
The suspension also applied to the remaining Alim examinations under the Madrasa Education Board and HSC (BMT), HSC (Vocational), and Diploma in Commerce examinations under the Technical Education Board in the affected region.
