BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT) hosted a lively and engaging Orientation Program to welcome the newly admitted students of the Spring Semester 2025 on Tuesday.
The event took place at BUFT’s Permanent Campus Auditorium in Nishatnagar, Turag, Dhaka.
The program was presided over by Prof Dr Engr Ayub Nabi Khan, acting vice chancellor of BUFT. Faruque Hassan, chairman of the board of trustees, BUFT Trust, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
In his welcome remarks, Rafiquzzaman, registrar of BUFT, warmly greeted the fresher’s and encouraged them to make the most of their academic journey at BUFT by embracing both its challenges and opportunities.
Distinguished academic leaders such as Prof Dr Md Alamgir Hossain, treasurer and dean, Faculty of Fashion Studies; Prof Md Muinuddin Khan, dean, Faculty of Business Studies and Faculty of Arts & Social Science; Prof Dr Md Sirajul Karim Choudhury, dean, Faculty of Engineering Studies; Prof Dr Md Abdul Jalil, dean, Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Textile Engineering; and Prof Dr Engr Mohammed Rubaiyat Chowdhury, dean, Faculty of Apparel Studies, addressed the students with inspiring speeches.
Additionally, one student from the newly admitted and two from the current shared their thoughts and aspirations. The program concluded with a vibrant Cultural Performance by the students, showcasing their talents and spirit.
The event was also attended by the controller of examinations, chief financial officer (CFO), director of Public Relations, chairpersons of various departments, director of BUFT, director of P&D, head of Logistics, librarian, proctor, IT manager, alongside faculty members, administrative officials, new students, and their guardians.
