The Department of Pharmacy at East West University (EWU) arranged a two-day "Pharma Carnival 2024", held at the EWU campus on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The event aimed to bring together industry professionals, academics, students, and other stakeholders in the pharmaceutical sector to celebrate innovation, knowledge, and solidarity.
The inaugural session was graced by Dr Khalilur Rahman, the esteemed high representative (Adviser) on the Rohingya Crisis and Priority Issues Affairs to the Chief Adviser, Government of the Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh, as the chief guest.
Secretary to the Health Services Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Md Saidur Rahman, was a special guest.
The session also featured Prof Dr Shams Rahman, vice chancellor of EWU, as the guest of honour.
Other distinguished speakers included Prof Dr Ashik Mosaddik, pro vice chancellor of EWU, and Prof Dr Amirul Islam, chairperson of the Department of Pharmacy at EWU.
The program was chaired by Prof Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chief adviser and founder vice chancellor of EWU.
The carnival showcases a vibrant exhibition with participation from 37 organizations, including leading pharmaceutical companies, educational institutions, and cosmetic companies, displaying their latest products and innovations. The carnival offers a rich array of activities such as scientific seminars, skill development workshops, and a panel discussion with 11 renowned pharmacy professionals.
Students are actively participating in various competitions, including poster presentations, a pharma olympiad, a 3-minute thesis competition, and extempore speeches
