East West University (EWU) welcomed around 2,200 newly admitted students through orientation programs for the Summer Semester 2026 on Thursday.
The programs were held at the university’s campus in Aftabnagar, Dhaka.
Academic departments organized separate orientation sessions to introduce the freshers to the university’s academic culture, code of conduct, facilities and scholarship opportunities.
Professor Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson, Board of Trustees, EWU, and former governor of Bangladesh Bank; Professor Dr Shams Rahman, vice chancellor of EWU; Professor Dr Ashik Mosaddik, pro-vice chancellor of EWU; and Air Cdre (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, treasurer of EWU, attended the programs.
Deans of different faculties, department chairpersons, faculty members, students, successful alumni and industry leaders also joined the sessions.
Speakers urged the students to uphold the university’s values and ethical standards throughout their academic lives.
They also encouraged the freshers to develop leadership qualities, communication skills and a mindset of continuous learning so they can contribute to society and succeed in an increasingly competitive and technology-driven world.
