Private schools on strike demanding nationalization

Update : 27 Jan 2018, 10:36 AM
The association of teachers of private educational institutions have called for a nationwide two-day work abstention starting Saturday to press home their demand for nationalization. Enamul Haque, the press secretary for Private Education Nationalization Liaison Forum told the Bangla Tribune on Friday evening about the decision, and said that protesting teachers would continue to hold their hunger strike in front of the National Press Club. Teachers’ Association President Nazrul Islam Rony said the government was not paying any attention to the teachers’ demands despite the presence of teachers from secondary and higher secondary schools, colleges and madrasas in front of the National Press Club. “Since January 15 we have been on hunger strike. The government still has no response. So we have decided to hold work abstention in all educational institutions on January 27 and 28.” He said there are 27,000 educational institutions in the country, all of which must be nationalized. This article was first published on banglatribune.com
