A bus caught fire on Saturday night in front of the Department of Disaster Management in the capital’s Mohakhali area.
The incident occurred at around 9pm.
The Fire Service control room said they received a report of the blaze, but their personnel did not need to take action. Local residents managed to extinguish the fire before firefighters arrived at the scene. No casualties were reported.
According to the Fire Service, the cause of the fire was not immediately known, though it is suspected that a mechanical fault may have triggered the incident.
