Protests and rallies were held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in Dhaka on Friday following Jummah prayers, condemning Israeli attacks and indiscriminate mass killings in Gaza.
Two separate processions were held—one led by general worshippers and the other by Khelafat Majlis—from the northern gate of the mosque.
Law enforcement agencies implemented extensive security measures in and around the mosque. Security personnel were seen conducting searches on suspected individuals. However, no untoward incidents occurred.
Protesters participated in the demonstrations carrying banners and placards with various slogans. They called for Israel to be boycotted and demanded the trial of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
