Train connection of Dhaka with other parts of the country remained suspended for three hours on Wednesday following the derailment of two wagons of a freight train near Kamalapur Railway Station in the capital.
Mohammad Anwar Hossain, station master of Kamalapur Railway Station, said two wagons of the container train from Chittagong veered off the tracks around 11:35am while entering the Kamalapur station, forcing the authorities to halt train movement.
Around 1:10am, the authorities started resuming the operation of train on single track from the station.
However, the rail movement returned to normal around 2:30pm after the removal of the two wagons from the rail tracks, he said.
