A construction worker named Naim, 20, lost his life after falling from the under-construction metro rail station in Kamalapur, Dhaka.
The incident occurred around 5:30am on Friday while he was working.
Due to negligence, he accidentally fell from a height and sustained critical injuries.
His coworkers immediately rescued him and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 12pm while undergoing treatment.
The deceased, Naim, was the son of Nazimul Islam from Panial Pukur village in Kishoreganj Upazila, Nilphamari.
His co-worker Nazmul reported that the accident took place while Naim was engaged in metro rail construction work in the Motijheel-Kamalapur area.
After the fall, he suffered severe injuries and despite receiving medical attention, doctors declared him dead at the hospital.
Inspector Md Faruk, in charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital Police Camp, confirmed Naim’s death.
He said that the body has been kept at the DMCH morgue and that the incident has been reported to the relevant police station.
