The metro rail services resumed at 2:05pm from Pallabi to Motijheel route following disruptions in schedule due to the inability to close the doors on time caused by excessive passenger pressure.
Metro rail operations from Uttara to Motijheel were halted at 1:39pm on Saturday.
Regarding the schedule disruption, the verified Facebook page of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) said: “Today's schedule disruption was caused by excessive crowds on every train due to the Dhaka University admission test. Extra time was required to close the doors, leading to signaling errors. As a result, the schedule was slightly disrupted, and train operations were limited to manual speed control. We sincerely seek the cooperation of our valued passengers. Kindly avoid causing obstructions while the doors are closing.”
