The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) is preparing for a quick reopening of the damaged metro station at

The station is expected to be operational by mid-October.

Mohammad Abdul Rauf, Managing Director of DMTCL, confirmed this information on Tuesday.

He said: "We are working to fulfill the current government's commitment to the people to reopen the damaged metro stations as soon as possible. We have already partially opened the Kazipara station, which is benefiting passengers.”

Abdul Rauf added: “The work on the Mirpur-10 station is nearly complete. We will conduct preparatory operations on October 10 and then present it to the advisory committee. We are aiming to open it this October."

Unidentified miscreants carried out vandalism at Mirpur-10 and Kazipara metro stations on July 19, amid the student movement for quota reform.

Metro rail operations remained suspended for over a month afterwards.

The then Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader had said that reopening the metro stations would not be possible even in one year.

Although metro rail operations resumed on August 25, the two stations remained closed.

The authority reopened Kazipara station on September 20.
