A journalist for the daily Dhaka Tribune sustained injuries in a clash between two student groups at Science Lab in Dhaka while covering the incident on Tuesday.
Fardin Alam, a junior multimedia journalist at Dhaka Tribune, was live broadcasting the clash, between students of Dhaka College and Ideal College at the Science Lab intersection in the afternoon, when a brick chip hit his head.
He immediately collapsed on the road. His colleagues and passersby quickly rescued him and took him to the hospital.
Several other individuals, including students and journalists, were injured in the incident.
Fardin is currently receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
At the time of writing, he remains at DMCH. Doctors said that his condition was no longer critical.
