The Dhaka metro rail authorities opened the Dhaka University and Bijoy Sarani stations to commuters on Wednesday morning.
DU students were elated as a train stopped at the TSC station at 7:35am, expressing their excitement about riding the metro rail for the first time and thanked the prime minister for the project.
These two stations of the Agargaon-Motijheel section will remain open till 11:30am, while all stations from Uttara to Agargaon will operate from 7:30am to 8:30pm.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the Uttara-Agargaon portion of the metro rail on December 28 last year. She later opened the Agargaon-Motijheel part on November 4.
