ULAB’s CES holds roundtable to strategize youth career preparedness

The discussion focused on finding out what skills recent graduates lack, how to teach them effectively, and how much the courses should cost

The Center for Enterprise and Society (CES) of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organized a thought-provoking roundtable discussion titled "Empowering Graduates for Job Readiness” on Friday.

Distinguished leaders hailing from diverse sectors, including academia, consulting agencies, NGOs, and education, gathered to address critical concerns related to graduate employability and the path to future-proof success, reads a press release issued on Sunday. 

Associate Professor Sajid Amit, director, CES, ULAB, commenced the event with his opening remarks and moderated the ensuing discussion. 

Joining him as the co-moderator was Mushfiqur Rahman, senior manager, Projects and Research, CES, ULAB. 

The conversation focused on finding out what skills recent graduates lack, how to teach them effectively, and how much the courses should cost. 

They also discussed ways to attract young graduates through marketing and assessing the potential perception of finishing school graduates among prospective employers.

The panellists engaged in constructive discussions, exploring innovative ways to include essential competencies in the curriculum to ensure graduates' success in an ever-evolving job market. 

They unanimously agreed that a well-designed program addressing the needs of fresh graduates would facilitate smooth transitions into the workforce and equip them with a better career pathway after graduation.

Sajid Amit, in his closing remarks, expressed gratitude to all the participants for their invaluable contributions and insights during the session. 

He emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts in shaping a future-ready workforce that thrives in a dynamic professional landscape.
