Center for Enterprise and Society (CES) recently organized a Leadership Talk titled “Skills for Success: Navigating Youth Dynamics in Bangladesh” with Tasmiah T Rahman, associate director of the Brac Skill Development Program as the guest speaker on Saturday.
Md Mushfiqur Rahman, senior manager of Projects and Research at CES, ULAB, hosted the event, said a press release issued on Sunday.
The discussion focused on the broad-based challenges and opportunities encountered by Bangladeshi youth in their career progression, the evolving job market, and the essential skills required for success.
Tasmiah Rahman analyzed the common aspirations of Bangladeshi youth and shared real-life examples and statistics to illustrate the existing gap.
Furthermore, Tasmiah Rahman discussed the performance of the education system from a contemporary perspective. She also highlighted strategies that senior-year students can implement to navigate their career paths, aligning them with their skill sets and passions.
Additionally, she addressed policy-level interventions, such as education curriculum and industry-academia collaboration. Moreover, Tasmiah offered tips for university students and early career professionals on developing their skills and advancing their careers in the future.
Tasmiah T Rahman completed her Masters in Development Studies from Brac University and Masters in Social Policy and Development from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
She has over 15 years of experience with a deep understanding of Bangladesh country context, culture and social perspective.
She is currently the associate director of Brac.
Tasmiah Rahman was previously the head of strategy and business development, Skills Development in Brac and prior to that, she was the senior manager, Communications and MRM of Swisscontact.
