The investigation committee formed by Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) submit a report on the devastating fire that broke out in the capital's Bangabazar market on April 4.
DSCC has received the list of traders from all the markets and units affected by the fire, said Public Relation officer Abu Naser confirming the matter.
He said that the report was supposed to be submitted on Monday. But a final report could not be submitted by the committee as one unit of the market could not submit the list of affected traders within office hours.
However, the committee is expected to submit its final report on Tuesday, said the official.
According to the list, the number of affected traders is approximately 4,200. The exact number will be informed to the media after the submission of the report. Apart from this, the name of the partially affected market Annex has not been mentioned in the list. As they have insurance, the shopkeepers of that market did not want to be enlisted in the DSCC's list.
The probe committee did not find any case of short circuit and sabotage behind the fire.
The fire at Bangabazar Shopping Complex in Dhaka was completely doused three days after the incident.
The devastating blaze also spread to some other nearby markets, burning several thousand shops, mainly ready-made garment and footwear stores, to ashes. The blaze made thousands of traders paupers ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr festival.
A total of six adjacent markets were also burnt.
The other six markets are--Gulistan Market, Annex tower, Mohanagar shopping complex, Adarsha market, Banga Islami Market and Barisal Plaza.
