Rescue work at the seven-storey building in the capital's Gulistan area have been stopped after the building showed cracks following the explosion.
The fire service members will start the rescue work again after the engineers come and report. The announcement was made on behalf of the fire service at 7:50pm on Tuesday.
Crowds have thronged the spot ever since the blast. Fire service members are miking since evening to remove them.
The Inter-Services Public Relations Department (ISPR) said in a notification that Bangladesh Army's bomb disposal unit has left for the blast site in Gulistan.
At least 16 people, including two women, were killed and more than 100 were injured in an explosion at a seven-storey building near a BRTC bus counter in the capital's Gulistan on Tuesday afternoon, with the death toll likely to increase.
