BNP activists have started converging on the Golapbagh ground in the Sayedabad area of Dhaka after getting permission from the police to hold the party's mass rally on Saturday there.
The BNP on Friday afternoon finally got permission from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to hold its rally on the Golapbagh ground.
BNP Vice Chairman Dr AZM Zahid Hossain confirmed the matter following a meeting with the chief of the Detective Branch of the DMP, Harun Or Rashid.
Mahmud Hossain Opu/Dhaka TribuneEarlier, a two-member BNP delegation comprising AZM Zahid Hossain and Law Affairs Secretary Kayser Kamal went to the DMP headquarters to try to end the impasse over the venue for the party's rally in Dhaka.
The DB chief had assured the delegation of ensuring security at the venue and asked the party to take preparations to hold the rally there, said AZM Zahid.
