The police have arrested four people suspected to be involved in the killing of constable Moniruzzaman Talukder by stabbing at the Farmgate intersection of Dhaka.
The law enforcement agency made the arrests in multiple drives carried out throughout Saturday, Golam Sabur, deputy commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Detective Branch, confirmed on Sunday.
One of the arrestees had admitted to his involvement in the killing, the police officer said.
The police were interrogating them, the deputy police commissioner said, adding that more details, including their identities, would be given later.
Moniruzzaman Talukder, attached to the Tejgaon Traffic Division of the DMP, was returning to work from his village home in Sherpur on Saturday after spending his Eid holidays there when he came under attack, which resulted in his death.
