Janata Bank Ltd will honour Beximco Ltd as the best client of the year for the highest volume of export earnings in 2020.
The state-owned bank’s board of directors made the decision at a meeting on January 6, according to a letter sent to Beximco Group Chairman Salman F Rahman on Sunday. The letter was signed by Janata Bank General Manager Md Shahidul Haque.
In line with the decision, the bank is set to give its Best Client and Highest Export Earner awards to Beximco at its head office at 3:30pm on Thursday, the letter says.
According to the letter, in the year 2020, the amount of Beximco Ltd’s export earnings through the bank was Tk2,326.54 crore, while the same for Beximco Group stood at Tk4,713.91 crore.
In the same year, the total amount of Beximco’s loan instalments was Tk426.61 crore. The bank earned Tk483.92 crore from the group.
