A handcuffed suspect escaped from police custody on Monday while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Rabbi, 19, is an accused in a case filed over an incident that took place under Sabujbagh police station.
Speaking to Dhaka Tribune, Sabujbagh police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbub Alam said: “This happened due to the negligence of one of our members.
“Multiple teams are conducting drives to catch the suspect.”
According to sources, around 3:30pm on Monday, Rabbi asked to go to the washroom. Then he escaped with the help of his brother Shawon, using the rear door of the ward he was kept in.
