A woman—suffering severe burns from a gas cylinder blast—has died while undergoing treatment at burn unit of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).
The deceased, Fatema Begum, 35, died on Monday morning — increasing the incident's death toll to two.
Dr Partha Sankar Pal, resident physician of DMCH burn unit, said: "Fatema succumbed to her injuries around 6:30 am. She suffered 97% burn."
Previously, on Saturday night, Fatema, and her three children, sustained severe burn injuries in a gas cylinder blast at their home in Narayanganj's Fatullah area.
Her son Safawan, 5, died at DMCH around 8pm on Sunday.
The others injured—Fatema’s son Rafi, 11, and daughter Faria, 9—are undergoing treatment at the hospital. However, both of them are in critical condition.
