The first batch of JAAGO students, who passed their SSC Examination this year, will have the opportunity to study at United World College (UWC).

UWC Society of Bangladesh and JAAGO Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 22nd October, 2018.

This MoU states that Secondary School Certificate (SSC) graduates of JAAGO will have the opportunity to study at UWC.

UWC Society of Bangladesh President Raquib Md Fakhrul, JAAGO Founder Korvi Rakshand, UWC Vice President Khadija Afzal, UWC General Secretary Ayesha Dada, and other officials were present at the ceremony.

This collaboration will ensure an efficient exchange of resources and increase the size of their respective talent pools.

Based on the needs of JAAGO students and the selection process of the National Committee in Bangladesh, UWC will provide scholarships of up to 100%, for students aged between 16-18 years, to be placed at one of the UWC campuses around the world. Classes will start in September.

Both of the organizations expressed their gratitude for their affiliation.

UWC Society of Bangladesh President Mr Raquib Mohammad Fakhrul said: “Our National Committee is proud to partner with the JAAGO Foundation and give their students such an opportunity. Through this we align ourselves even further with the UWC mission to make education a force to unite people, nations, and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.”

In response, JAAGO Founder Mr Korvi Rakshand said: "This is a wonderful opportunity for the students. We are hoping that this will open doors to infinite possibilities for them. These children who came from an underprivileged background have been given the innate power to shape their lives and when they return, it is our hope that they become responsible citizens of the nation and give back to the society.”
