But Badda police could not clarify whether one and half years old Ariya was poisoned to death by someone or took the lethal element mistakenly. The incident took place in Uttar Badda Juma mosque area at the dead hours of night.
However, her elder sister, named Ago Moni, 4, and mother Shahina Begum, 35, wife of Amzad Ali, survived the poisoning and they were undergoing treatment at the DMCH. The body was kept in the hospital morgue for autopsy
Badda police station OC Abdul Jalil said: “We have initially presumed that poisoning is the reason behind Ariya's death. We are waiting for the autopsy report which will clarify the details.”
When contacted, Ariya's paternal cousin Shamsuddin said the neighbours heard screaming in the couple’s residence in the area around 2am and they broke open the doors being failed to get any reply despite repeated knocking, and they discovered the three in unconscious condition.
DMCH on-duty physician Kamrul Islam opined that the condition of the two was improving gradually.
