Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained three suspected members of a new faction of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (New JMB) from Aftabnagar area in Dhaka.
The detainees are Sunna Kamal alias Kamal Hossain, Mushfikul Haque and Mamun.
RAB Legal and Media Wing’s Senior Assistant Director Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune Wednesday morning.
He said they were arrested in a drive conduct a drive in the area around 11pm on Tuesday.
According to RAB, Sarwar Jahan alias Abdur Rahman alias Abu Ibrahim al-Hanif was the chief of New JMB while
Gulshan attack mastermind Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury was the second-in-command of the group.
Details regarding the matter will be disclosed in a press briefing later in the day.
