The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) has started its formal investigation into two cases filed over two powerful explosions near Atia Mahal militant den in Sylhet’s Shibbari area that killed six people on March 25.
The two explosions approximately 250m away from Atia Mahal killed six, including RAB Intelligence Wing Chief Lt Col Abul Kalam Azad, and injured over 40.
One of the two cases was filed for the killing of six people while the other under the Explosives Substances Act.
The PBI investigators had received the evidences and dockets of the two cases from Sylhet Metropolitan Police and visited the area on Saturday morning, said PBI Special Superintendent of Police Rezaul Karim Mallik.
