Police have arrested one more person in connection with the gang-rape of a mother of three in Noakhali’s Nabagram.
Jamal Uddin, 26, was arrested from a relative’s house in Comilla by the Detective Branch (DB) of Police on Thursday.
Noakhali DB Officer-in-Charge Md Abul Khair confirmed the news, saying: “After we interrogated Zakir Hossain, the prime suspect, he revealed Jamal’s name and we arrested him from Comilla where he was hiding.”
Last Friday night, a 29-year-old woman raped by four men after they forcefully entered her house and tied her children up.

The police suspect that because the woman's husband was imprisoned, some people might have tried to take advantage of that.
Police said the woman positively identified Zakir as one of the rapists, but could not identify the others.
Based on her complaint, police arrested Zakir on Saturday, and four others over the week based on Zakir's statements during interrogation.
