Milon: 50,000 teachers to be recruited within next three months

The education minister also said that this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations will be conducted using a uniform question paper across the nine general education boards

Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has said that the government will take steps to recruit approximately 50,000 teachers, including head teachers and assistant teachers for primary schools, within the next three months.

The minister made the remarks on Monday while addressing the 20th founding anniversary celebration and the Deans' and Vice-Chancellor Awards ceremony at Noakhali University of Science and Technology as the chief guest.

Speaking at the event, the education minister also said that this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations will be conducted using a uniform question paper across the nine general education boards. 

In addition, common question papers will be used for subjects with identical curricula and content across all 11 education boards, including the Madrasah and Technical Education Boards.

The minister further noted that the government is working toward increasing education-sector allocations to 3.5% of GDP in the 2027–28 fiscal year and 4% in the following fiscal year.

During the ceremony, 51 individuals were honored with the Deans' and Vice Chancellor's Awards in recognition of their achievements in various fields.

The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Golam Rabbani, vice-chancellor of the university. Among those present were Mohammad Shahjahan, MP, Fakhrul Islam, MP, University Grants Commission Chairman Professor Dr. Mamun Hossain; and Pro-VC of the university Dr. Mohammad Shafiqul Islam.
