A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of income tax records belonging to former state minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid, his wife Seema Hamid, and their son Zarif Hamid in connection with a corruption case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Sabbir Faiz passed the order on Sunday, following three separate petitions filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). Court bench assistant Riaz Hossain confirmed the matter.
In the petitions, ACC Assistant Director Minhaz Bin Islam, the investigating officer of the case, sought the seizure of the income tax documents, saying they are necessary for the proper investigation of the allegations.
