Petition filed in High Court for release of 6 quota movement coordinators from DB custody

The petition filed on Monday also requested an order for authorities to stop shooting at quota reform protesters

A petition has been filed in the High Court seeking an order for the release of six reform movement coordinators from the custody of the Detective Branch of police.

Additionally, the petition filed on Monday requested an order for authorities to stop shooting at quota reform protesters.

Supreme Court lawyers Manjur Al Matin Pritam and Ainnunahar Siddika Lipi filed the petition in the High Court. 

They mentioned that the petition would be heard by a High Court bench comprising Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice SM Masud Hossain Dolon.

The petition lists the cabinet secretary, the secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, the inspector general of police, the chief of army staff and other relevant officials as respondents.

Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmud, Abu Baker Majumder, Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah and Nusrat Tabassum are now in DB custody.

The six declared the end of protests through a short video message late on Sunday.
