A former general Bangladeshi worker has been sentenced to two weeks imprisonment for repeatedly molesting a 20-year-old student in Singapore.
The court of District Judge Jasvender Kaur gave the verdict on Thursday, considering the two weeks Hossain Farhad spent in remand after he was first charged.
24-year-old Farhad admitted to two out of four charges of molesting the victim inside a lift in Rochor MRT station on Aug 31 last year, reports the Straits Times.
Investigations showed that Farhad touched the student’s buttocks while she and her friend were in a lift at Rochor MRT station.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Gail Wong said Farhad touched her three more times at the station with the "intention of outraging her modesty".
Later, the victim and her friends caught Farhad and called up the police.
